Madonna Swimming is a video work created from footage of Madonna's music videos, Madonna is a cultural figure of excess, and her iconography appropriated from a saturated visual culture. This video collects the leaking Madonna, her images of sexuality and religion, and ultimately presents a more ambiguous product.
Kim Kölle Valentine (AKA Kim Kielhofner) works in video, drawing, and collage, exploring layered narratives inspired by cinema and literature. Her work has been exhibited at Dazibao, VOX, LUX, Sporobole, and k48, and featured in festivals including Kassel Documentary, WRO Biennale, and Oberhausen. She has held residencies at KulturKontakt (Vienna), Aberystwyth Arts Centre (UK), The Red Mansion Foundation (Beijing), and ISCP (Brooklyn).
