Synopsis

Un film original is a very short comedy, a parody of American features from the 90's or 2000's, in the shape of a storyboard. Jane leaves her family to live her life. She meets someone who turns her life upside down. Her life will change forever. Or not. Or maybe a little.

Filmmaker Bio

Sarah Toussaint-Léveillé is a director and multidisciplinary artist. They explore fiction, documentary, essay, and poetry, focusing on themes of identity, mental health, and human connection. After graduating from l'INIS in 2023, Sarah has directed a few short films, including Dear Oscarz, which received awards from Les Filministes Festival amongst others.

The artist transforms the lyrics of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' learned by children in nursery school. The wonder of looking at the little star is converted into the surprise of a rumor told by the adoption agency.

The reaction it triggered became one of the precursor events to the creation of what was first called Le Village de l’Est (in contrast to the gay bar sector west of downtown), then Le Village gai, and now simply Le Village.
