This documentary explores Indigeneity in prairie settings, highlighting feelings of disconnection and the desire for kinship with the Land. Through contrasting experiences and landscapes, it reflects on cultural dispossession and the ongoing journey to reconnect with one’s roots.
James Dixon is an Indigenous filmmaker based in Winnipeg. By combining abstract collaging and documentary aesthetics, he creates work that is regional, autobiographical, and experimental. James has exhibited his work in Canada and abroad at events such as Biindigaate, MIX NYC, and LISFE. His work has been broadcast on APTN and collected by Alexander Street Press.
