An animated copy of Fifty Shades of Grey takes us through an unsanitized journey of human sexuality.

Ash Burnett is a nonbinary illustrator and animator from Montreal.

Director's Statement

In the last several years, puritanical attitudes towards sex and taboo have been on the rise, particularly in online culture. Pornography and sex work are increasingly under attack by draconian censorship laws, erotica is regularly wiped from social media to protect advertising revenue, and independent creators live under constant threat of being debanked by payment processors. Working Out the Kinks was made to celebrate the unsanitized kinks and fetishes that make up the wide and weird spectrum of human sexuality.
