Beneath the pulsing waves of a club carved in shadow, two gazes lock. Music replaces words; movement becomes voice. In this nocturnal vertigo, their bodies draw close, magnetic and elusive. Yet does this intimate approach belong to reality, or to the lens of their imagination?
Ninon Liébert is a queer and feminist filmmaker, film student, and passionate image-maker drawn to dreamlike atmospheres and subtle storytelling. Driven by a desire to transform industry practices, they bring marginalized voices to the forefront and foster safe, inclusive, and collaborative film sets rooted in active listening and creative openness.
Through this project, I aim to offer an atmospheric experience rooted in gentle simplicity, while advocating for a different way of making films. Without pretension, this film seeks to challenge the industry's normative, patriarchal, and often harmful work practices. Surrounded by a predominantly female crew, I wanted to create a healthy, safe, and supportive creative environment grounded in active listening. The film brings visibility to queer and feminine dynamics that remain largely underrepresented on screen. This project was born out of a love for women, community, and the next generation of filmmakers, but also out of a desire to create differently, together.
