KIMURA BYOL

kimura byol lemoine is a conceptual multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker exploring multi-identities—diaspora, displacement, colorism, and gender. Zer debut short Adoption (1988) won the Grand Prix “To Be Young in Europe” in Brussels. Winner of the First Prize at the Seoul International Documentary Film Festival (1996), ze also created #6261 (NFB, 2016) and curates projects amplifying the voices of (in)visible minorities.

MARY GALLOWAY

Mary Galloway is a two-time Canadian Screen Award nominee and storyteller dedicated to representing marginalized communities with heart and authenticity. A TIFF Rising Star and WFF Talent to Watch, she created the acclaimed web series Querencia and directed The Cowichan Sweater: Our Knitted Legacy. In 2025, she became the first Indigi-queer Artistic Director of the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

SIMON FRENAY

Trained at the Cours Florent drama school, Simon Frenay began his career as an actor working with socially conscious filmmakers such as Robert Guédiguian, Ducastel, and Martineau, before branching out internationally with Indian director Onir. These experiences led him to directing with Scred, Youssou & Malek, and Carpobrotus. He is currently developing Si elle est quelque part (If She Is Somewhere) and completing a documentary on the trauma of young exiles. His work explores queer, social, and racial themes, echoing his commitment to unaccompanied foreign minors.

NINA BOUCHAUD- CHEVAL

Nina Bouchaud-Cheval began her career as a creative director before becoming an assistant director in music videos and advertising. Self-taught in fiction, in 2022 she made Les Éveillées, her first film as a writer-director, which was selected for more than forty festivals around the world and won a dozen awards. She is currently developing a short film and writing her first feature film, continuing to pursue a sensitive style of cinema, rooted in reality and carried by strong female characters.
