Mission

image+nation culture queer / not-for-profit // mandate : to encourage and nurture LGBTQ+ culture and storytelling. Through evolving projects, image+nation culture queer explores the diversity of LGBTQ+ life and living through Queer Storytelling. Help us continue supporting and championing these stories. We can create a future for LGBTQ+ creators and audiences by making LGBTQ+ stories and storytelling accessible and shareable for all.

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we physically gather and virtually stream to vou is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien:keha'ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters upon which image+nation takes place. Tiohtià:ke/ Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples. We recognize the rich Indigenous heritage of this place, a place that is a source of pride and inspiration for the entire Montreal community.

MARTIN HENRI | EXECUTIVE PRODUCER Martin Henri began his career in 2000 producing music videos at Nùfilms in Montreal. In 2009, Martin also founded his first company, Voyous Films, a personal project he used as a laboratory for discovering new talent in the industry. Martin left Voyous and Jet Films to found Romeo & Fils in 2013, a multi-platform company that combines high-quality production with the development of up-and-coming talent. Faced with changes in content production, Martin launched RF2 in 2018 to meet the growing needs of companies.
ELI JEAN TAHCHI
ELI JEAN TAHCHI[WRITER + DIRECTOR]
ELI JEAN TAHCHI | WRITER + DIRECTOR Eli Jean Tahchi is a graduate of the mixed program funded by Netflix at Inis. He is a director, screenwriter and actor. In Beirut, he studied cinema at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and obtained a bachelor's degree in film and television production. In 2011, he moved to Montreal, where he continued his studies in cinema. Eli Jean Tahchi's engaged cinema is sharp, human and metaphorically charged. His film Y'a des fois où j'aimerais me trouver sur une île déserte was nominated for the IRIS award at the 24th Gala Québec Cinéma, in the best short documentary category.
MYRIAM FARSAOUI
MYRIAM FARSAOUI[ACTOR]
MYRIAM FARSAOUI | ACTOR After studying cinema at the Université de Montréal, Myriam explored the world of film sets, and one day aspired to write her own projects. In 2019, she took part in the mixed program offered by Inis in scriptwriting profile and wrote Rima+Jacob, a three-episode web series, which won the What's Next: Writer award at Webfest Berlin 2020. Myriam co-wrote the Télé-Québec web series La Dernière Communion, with director Eli Jean Tahchi. Her work mainly explores themes related to rites of passage to adulthood, identity conflicts and the representation of immigrant communities.
JEAN-PIERRE BERGERON
JEAN-PIERRE BERGERON[ACTOR]
JEAN-PIERRE BERGERON | ACTOR A 1971 graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Jean-Pierre Bergeron studied acting and teaching in New York. He has acted in dozens of films and series, and participated in numerous projects. He stepped behind the camera in 2015 with the film Hithking in the Dark (2015), which he wrote, directed and starred in. Jean-Pierre Bergeron is considered the first actor in Quebec playing typically male roles (he played policemen, bandits and authority figures for 40 years) to come out to the media.

BEATRICE MOUKHAIBER | PRODUCER Béatrice Moukhaiber is a producer, multidisciplinary artist and trainer at Inis in continuing education. A graduate of Inis' Netflix-supported Mixed Program - Documentary and Fiction, in 2021. Since 2007, she has had the opportunity to assist, direct, coordinate, produce and edit various film, television and web projects. Her latest documentary, Outside Center, begins its festival circuit this year. She is recognized for her work on Casablanca productions' 5e rang series, Monia Chokri's Babysitter; Maxime Giroux's Norbourg; Julien Knafo's Brain Freeze... Most recently, Béatrice produced La dernière communion, a web series with Roméo et fils.

MARINA KHOURY | PRODUCER Marina Khoury is a visionary producer with international experience in advertising, documentary, and fiction, deeply passionate about storytelling. She crafts compelling works that spotlight authentic and often underrepresented subjects. Her multicultural and diverse portfolio boasts collaborations with renowned names like Andreï Konchalovsky, Cirque du Soleil, Felix & Paul Studios, and Meta. As a forward-thinking innovator in new media, her latest animated projects include Central Park (AppleTV) and Soccer Star (Netflix). Her serie, La Dernière Communion, produced with Romeo et Fils, underscores the significance of authenticity and captivating narratives, celebrating diversity and sparking vital conversations within society.
