WHAT
Calling all emerging Canadian queer filmmakers!
I+N StoryLab / histoires queer contemporaines brings together five first time + emerging queer creators and five filmmaking mentors from across Canada for a collaborative storytelling and script development initiative, culminating in person during image+nation festival film LGBT2SQueer Montréal in November.
We are seeking diverse, driven, and creative applicants ready to develop bold new stories for the screen(s).
HOW
Through workshops and mentorship, I+N StoryLab equips participants with practical tools and strategies to foster authenticity, collaboration, outreach, and production through storytelling.The program will provide participants with concrete means to create new Canadian queer stories reflecting contemporary LGBTQ+ perspectives and experiences.
WHO
Grounded in inclusivity, this initiative seeks participants that represent our country’s diverse regional voices—fostering content creation from distinct Canadian perspectives and positionings while emphasizing voices from francoqueers outside of Québec and underrepresented queers from Indigenous, 2Spirit, Indigiqueer, BPOC and other racialized communities to take up the call.
