montreal LESBIAN GAY BI TRANS film festival

Literature has long offered a treasure trove of stories from which queer filmmakers have mined, translating the written word into moving images on the big screen. A first at image+nation, CINÉ+litterature explores this unique and bountiful relationship - new queer storytelling from the page to the screen.
Author of the bestseller “We the Animals”, Justin Torres comes to the Festival to take part in two events: an exclusive reading at The Violet Hour, an evening of short readings by LGBTQ writers with connections to the world of cinema and host a Q&A at the screening of the film adaptation of his work. Also in the CINÉ+Litterature series the Emily M. Danforth novel adaptation The Miseducation of Cameron Post Sundance 2018 Grand Jury Prize winner starring Chloë Grace Moretz and the poignant dramatization of Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde’s final years in exile, The Happy Prince directed and starring Rupert Everett.
